Updating your GPU driver usually improves gaming performance and fixes bugs, but sometimes it can cause new problems, especially for older titles. That is what many gamers are experiencing right now with Nvidia’s latest 580 driver update.

According to multiple user reports on Nvidia’s official forums, several older Forza titles, including Forza Motorsport 6 Apex, Forza Motorsport 7, and Forza Horizon 3, no longer work properly with the new driver. Players say the games fail to detect their graphics cards and show an AP204 “GPU not compatible” error.

The issue disappears when users roll back to driver version 576.88. It confirms that the problem is linked to the latest driver update

The affected games are quite old and have already been delisted from the Microsoft Store. Forza Motorsport 6 Apex and Horizon 3 are nearly ten years old, while Forza Motorsport 7 turned eight this year. So, I don’t think these games would get patches to fix the issue.

These games have an active community of fans who prefer their classic gameplay and visuals. For those players, the only workaround for now is to roll back to driver 576.88 and avoid the latest update until Nvidia finds a solution.
