Lenskart has officially confirmed its entry into the smart wearables space with “B by Lenskart.” It will be a pair of AI camera smartglasses designed and engineered in India. Lenskart is planning to launch it by December 2025.
According to the announcement, Lenskart will open access to its AI and camera technology for developers. This means popular services in food delivery, entertainment, or fitness could soon have native features optimized for the glasses. It is a move that could transform the device from a niche gadget into a mainstream utility platform.
The upcoming smartglasses will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chipset, the same processor found in many global AR devices. They will feature a Sony camera for hands-free photo and video capture, and an AI assistant powered by Gemini 2.5 Live. Lenskart claims this will support voice-based UPI payments, live translation, health insights, and contextual assistance, all without needing to take out your phone.

Weighing only 40 grams, these glasses are about 20% lighter than similar smartglasses in the market. Lenskart emphasized that these are “glasses first”, built for comfort and everyday use rather than being a flashy tech toy.
The company also revealed its vision to create India’s first full-stack wearables ecosystem. It already has strong retail reach and manufacturing control, and its investments in AI and XR startups like Ajna Lens show that Lenskart is thinking long-term.
While the idea of smartglasses is not new, Lenskart’s local-first strategy could be its biggest advantage. By pricing the product for Indian consumers and creating regional integrations such as UPI, fitness apps, and language translation. If Lenskart executes this well, B by Lenskart could become India’s answer to Ray-Ban Meta Smartglasses.
