Auroch Digital, the developer behind Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, has announced a new game titled Warhammer Survivors in partnership with Vampire Survivors creator Poncle. The game is set to release for PC via Steam in 2026. It will combine the grim worlds of Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer: Age of Sigmar in a fast-paced roguelite format inspired by the popular “Survivors” genre.
Warhammer Survivors brings together two massive Warhammer universes into one pixel-style action experience. Players will take control of iconic heroes and fight through endless waves of enemies drawn from both the 41st Millennium and the Mortal Realms. The game focuses on survival against hordes of foes, with players gaining power-ups, evolving weapons, and uncovering secrets as they battle across various arenas.
Players can choose between the futuristic Warhammer 40,000 setting or the fantasy realm of Age of Sigmar. Battles will take place in diverse environments, from the burning plains of Aqshy to the dark, claustrophobic corridors of abandoned Space Hulks. Each stage promises a unique enemy faction, ensuring no two fights feel the same.
The game features a lineup of recognizable characters from across both Warhammer worlds. Each hero has unique weapons, stats, and playstyles. Among them are:
- Malum Caedo, the Space Marine Sternguard Veteran from Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, who fights against the ravenous Tyranids.
- Trooper Kozlowski, a Cadian Shock Trooper, and Brother Luca, a Space Marine Intercessor, also join the fray.
- From the Age of Sigmar universe, players can fight as Neave Blacktalon, the Stormcast warrior, Gotrek Gurnisson, the famed monster-slayer, and Sharynn Azurwrath, a Vanquisher armed with a Celestial Greatsword.
Each champion brings a distinct set of abilities and starting weapons, ensuring plenty of variety in gameplay.
Fans of Warhammer’s brutal combat will find plenty to love. The game includes iconic weapons like the Chainsword, Boltgun, and Whirlwind Axes. Players can also mix weapons with special power-ups to create devastating combinations capable of clearing the screen of enemies. In true Warhammer humor, one of the quirky items includes the pot of Citadel Nuln Oil paint—a fun nod to miniature painters in the community.
Enemies in Warhammer Survivors come from various factions, including the Skaven and the Tyranids. These endless hordes will challenge players’ reflexes and strategy as they attempt to survive as long as possible while upgrading their arsenal and abilities.
Even in defeat, progress continues. The game will feature meta progression where players can unlock new heroes, weapons, relics, and abilities. This system ensures that every run helps players grow stronger and survive longer in their next attempt.
Warhammer Survivors aims to blend the addictive, wave-based formula of Vampire Survivors with the lore and style of Warhammer’s dark universes. With its mix of action, humor, and fan-favorite characters, it promises to be one of the most exciting crossovers in recent years.
The game will launch on Steam in 2026. Players can already wishlist it and watch the official announcement trailer on its Steam page.
