Lava has launched a new budget smartphone, Lava SHARK 2 4G, in India. The phone is the successor to the original SHARK that came out earlier this year. Lava SHARK 2 4G is priced at just Rs. 6999 and focused on offering a smoother display and a balanced performance for entry-level users.
The Lava SHARK 2 4G features a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, which is impressive for a phone in this price segment. Most phones around this price usually come with a 60Hz panel, so Lava is clearly trying to stand out by offering a faster and more fluid screen experience.

The phone is powered by the UNISOC T7250 chipset, paired with 4GB RAM and an additional 4GB of virtual RAM. You get 64GB of storage, which can be expanded up to 2TB using a microSD card. It runs on Android 15, and Lava promises one major Android update along with two years of security updates.
The SHARK 2 4G has a 50MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The photos from the previous SHARK were decent for daylight shots, so it will be interesting to see if this new model improves the image processing further.

Connectivity options include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi (2.4GHz), Bluetooth 5.2, and GPS.
It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio, and a bottom-firing speaker. The phone packs a 5000mAh battery with support for 18W charging via USB Type-C.
The Lava SHARK 2 4G will be available in Eclipse Grey and Aurora Gold colors across Lava retail stores starting this October. Like other Lava phones, it also comes with the company’s free Service@Home program, which is a nice touch for after-sales support.
