Google has expanded its AI-powered app builder, Opal, to 15 new countries. The app lets users create small web apps using simple text prompts. It was first launched in the U.S., and is now available in India, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Brazil, Singapore, Colombia, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panamá, Honduras, Argentina, and Pakistan.

Megan Li, Senior Product Manager at Google Labs, said that when Opal was first introduced in the U.S., they expected users to build simple and fun tools. However, users surprised them with creative, practical, and advanced apps. She added that the excitement around Opal made it clear that more creators around the world should get access to it.

Opal works in a simple way. You just type what kind of app you want to make, and it builds it for you using Google’s AI models. Once the app is ready, you can open an editor to see how it works behind the scenes. The editor shows inputs, outputs, and steps in a visual flow. You can click any part to edit, add new steps, or fine-tune the prompts. After that, you can publish your app online and share a link so others can try it with their Google accounts.

Along with the wider rollout, Google has also announced several improvements to Opal. The debugging experience has been made better while keeping it a no-code tool. Users can now test each step one by one or adjust them directly in the console. If there is an error, Opal highlights it on the spot, making it easier to understand and fix.

Google also improved Opal’s speed and performance. Earlier, it could take more than five seconds to create a new app, but now it is much faster. The platform also allows parallel processing, meaning multiple steps can run at the same time. This makes it easier to build complex workflows without waiting too long.
