Amazon has introduced its latest line of Echo devices for 2025. The new lineup includes the Echo Dot Max, Echo Studio, Echo Show 8, and Echo Show 11. These devices are built around Alexa+, Amazon’s new AI assistant released earlier this year, which brings smarter responses and more personalized interactions.
The new Echo devices feature two custom-designed chips called AZ3 and AZ3 Pro. These chips include an AI Accelerator that allows the devices to run advanced AI models locally. The Echo Dot Max uses the AZ3 chip, which improves voice recognition and filters out background noise. The device can now recognize the “wake word” more than 50% better, making conversations with Alexa feel smoother and more natural. The Echo Studio, Echo Show 8, and Echo Show 11 use the AZ3 Pro chip, which also supports advanced language models and vision technology.
The new chips power Omnisense, a smart sensor platform that uses multiple sensors together. These sensors include the 13MP camera on the Echo Show models, audio sensors, ultrasound, and Wi-Fi radar. Omnisense allows Alexa+ to react to the environment. For example, it can send reminders when a family member enters a room or alert you if a garage door is unlocked late at night.
The Echo Dot Max is designed for improved audio performance. It offers almost three times more bass than the previous Echo Dot and can automatically adjust sound to suit your room. The device has a two-way speaker system, including a powerful woofer and a custom tweeter. It also comes with enhanced microphones for accurate voice detection.

The Echo Studio has been redesigned and is now 40% smaller than the previous model. It features a high-power woofer and three full-range drivers, delivering rich sound with support for spatial audio and Dolby Atmos. The round design uses 3D-knit fabric for clearer audio, and a light ring works with a visual understanding model for added functionality. You can also connect up to five Echo Studio or Echo Dot Max devices to compatible Fire TV sticks to create a surround sound system. Alexa Home Theater automatically sets up and tunes the system for the best audio experience.

The Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 11 have improved screens with in-cell touch and enhanced displays for clearer visuals. Both devices feature a 13MP camera capable of recognizing who is looking at the screen, allowing for personalized answers. These devices act as a media control center and include a built-in smart home hub that supports Zigbee, Matter, and Thread. Users can view family calendars, manage tasks, and shop using the Alexa+ shopping widget for Amazon, Whole Foods, and Amazon Fresh. The devices will also connect to health and wellness services, starting with Oura and expanding to partners like Withings and Wyze. Audio is delivered through front-facing stereo speakers, a custom woofer, and full-range drivers for room-filling sound.

Amazon is also launching the Alexa+ Store, a centralized hub for devices, subscriptions, and services. Partner companies include TaskRabbit, Fandango, Priceline, Uber, Lyft, Thumbtack, GrubHub, and Yahoo Sports. Alexa+ will also be integrated into products from Bose, Sonos, LG, Samsung, and BMW.
The new Echo devices are available for pre-order in the U.S. starting today, with early access to Alexa+. The Echo Dot Max is priced at $99.99 and will be available on October 29. The Echo Studio costs $219.99 and will also launch on October 29. The Echo Show 8 is priced at $179.99 and the Echo Show 11 at $219.99, both available from November 12.
The Echo Dot Max comes in Glacier White, Amethyst, and Graphite, while the Echo Studio, Echo Show 8, and Echo Show 11 are available in Glacier White and Graphite.
