Meta has announced the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 at the Connect 2025 event. This is the successor to the 2023 Ray-Ban Meta, and it brings notable upgrades in camera quality, battery life, and customization options. Mark Zuckerberg introduced the glasses along with the new Meta Ray-Ban Display and the Vanguard glasses for athletes.

The design is mostly the same as last year, but with more frame and color options. The open-ear speakers have been improved to deliver louder and clearer audio even in noisy environments. A five-microphone array is optimized for noise reduction and clearer voice and video calls.

One of the biggest upgrades is battery life. The Gen 2 glasses can last up to eight hours on a full charge, nearly double the battery life of the first generation. The charging case can quickly take the glasses from 0 to 50 percent in just 20 minutes and offers up to 48 extra hours of power.

The camera also gets a big boost. Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 can now record 3K videos at 30fps for three minutes or 3K videos at 60fps for 30 seconds. Photo resolution remains the same at 3,024 x 4,032 pixels. Meta also confirmed that slow motion and hyperlapse modes will arrive later this year through a software update.

Meta is also adding some smart features with this release. A new Conversation Focus mode amplifies the voice of the person you are talking to in a noisy environment, making conversations easier. This feature will be available on the new glasses and will also roll out to older Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta HSTN models.

The live translation feature has also been expanded. It now supports German and Portuguese and will soon work offline in airplane mode if you download language packs in advance.

Price and Availability

The Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 starts at $379. It is already available for pre-order in the US, UK, Australia, and other markets where the previous model was sold. The smart glasses will also launch in India and Mexico later this year.

The glasses are available in three frame styles — Wayfarer, Skyler, and Headliner. Buyers can choose from 27 combinations of frames, colors, and lens types. The price goes up depending on the lenses. Polarised lenses cost $409, while transition lenses cost $459. Prescription models will be even more expensive.
