Hollow Knight: Silksong finally arrived last week after years of waiting, but not everything has gone smoothly. While fans have praised the game’s world and combat, many players felt that some parts of the game were simply too difficult. Team Cherry has now released the first update for Silksong, and it comes with bug fixes and adjustments to balance things out.

The update is currently available only on PC through Steam and GOG’s public beta branches. Console players will get it later when the patch moves out of beta next week.

Two early bosses, Moorwing and Sister Splinter, are getting a slight difficulty reduction. Prices for Bellway and Bell Bench have also been lowered, while rewards from relics, psalm cylinders, and courier deliveries have been increased. These changes should make the early and mid-game a little more forgiving.

The patch also fixes several frustrating bugs, such as players getting stuck cloakless after the Slab escape sequence, courier deliveries becoming inaccessible in late game, and certain enemies or tools behaving incorrectly. Team Cherry confirmed that all fixes will apply retroactively, so even players stuck on progress-blocking bugs can benefit by switching to the public beta.

The studio also noted that more fixes are on the way, with a second update already in development. A list of ongoing issues is available on the official Hollow Knight: Silksong website.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is now available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and the upcoming Switch 2. The game is also included in Xbox and PC Game Pass subscriptions.
