Bose has launched the second generation of its QuietComfort Ultra headphones, the newest member of its popular noise-cancelling lineup. These premium wireless headphones now support audio over USB-C, a feature that was missing in the previous generation. They also keep the 2.5mm headphone jack and ship with a 2.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable in the box.

The design looks familiar, but Bose has made important upgrades under the hood. The company’s CustomTune technology now works better than before, automatically adjusting sound and noise cancellation to the unique shape of your ears.

Noise cancellation has also improved and promises an even quieter experience in busy environments. The Aware Mode now sounds more natural, and Bose has added a Cinema Mode with a wider soundstage and clearer dialogue.

Connectivity gets an update with Bluetooth 5.4 and support for SBC, AAC, and Qualcomm AptX Adaptive codecs. Battery life is stronger, too. You get up to 30 hours with ANC on and 45 hours with ANC off. Charging is handled via USB-C, and the headphones now let you listen while charging, which is a handy addition.

The Bose QuietComfort Ultra (2nd Gen) comes in Black, Midnight Violet, Driftwood Sand, and White. Pricing is set at $450 / £450, and deliveries will begin in early October.
