Borderlands 4 has just launched on PC, and it is already breaking records. Within an hour of release, the game became the biggest Borderlands title ever on Steam.
As per our tracking, Borderlands 4 reached over 207,000 concurrent players soon after going live. For comparison, Borderlands 2 had a peak of 124,678 players, while Borderlands 3 managed 93,820. This shows how strong the demand is for the new game.
PC players can start playing now through Steam or the Epic Games Store. Console players will need to wait a little longer, depending on their region.
It is worth noting that Steam numbers only reflect PC players who are playing via Steam. Console player counts are not available, so the total number of people playing is much higher.
Even with that, the early response is clear. Borderlands 4 has started strong and is already showing signs of being a major comeback for the series after the disappointment of Borderlands 3.
