Insta360 has introduced a new compact action camera called the GO Ultra. It is a fresh addition to the GO series and not a direct replacement for the GO 3S.
The GO Ultra takes a big leap in performance. It runs on a new 5nm AI chip, a major upgrade over the 14nm chip used in the GO 3S. The camera also gets a larger 1/1.28-inch sensor, almost twice the size of the previous model. With this, it can record 4K videos at 60fps, capture HDR footage, and deliver much better low-light results using Insta360’s PureVideo technology.
The design is still compact but has changed slightly. The GO Ultra now has a square-shaped body and weighs 53 grams, making it a bit heavier than the GO 3S. The bigger size also brings more power. The standalone battery lasts for 70 minutes, while the Action Pod extends it up to 200 minutes. The pod adds a 2.5-inch flip screen for live preview and controls.
One of the most useful upgrades is removable storage. The GO Ultra supports cards up to 2TB, solving the limited storage problem of older models.
Like other Insta360 products, the GO Ultra is built for adventure. It is waterproof up to 33 feet with an IPX8 rating and comes with a magnetic clip system, so users can easily attach it to clothes or gear and start recording.
The Insta360 GO Ultra is now available worldwide for $450.
