Google has introduced the Pixel Buds 2a at its Made by Google event, bringing advanced audio and smart features to its A-Series earbuds. These are the smallest and lightest Pixel A-Series earbuds yet, designed for comfort and everyday use.
The Pixel Buds 2a are inspired by the Pixel Buds Pro 2. Google says the fit is based on over 45 million ear scans, making them suitable for long hours of wear. They are also durable, with the earbuds carrying an IP54 rating for sweat and water resistance, while the charging case has an IPX4 rating, ideal for workouts and light rain.
For the first time in the A-Series, the Pixel Buds 2a include Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) with Silent Seal 1.5 technology, along with Transparency Mode to hear surroundings when needed. The earbuds feature 11mm dynamic drivers, redesigned acoustics, stereo spatial audio, and a 5-band equalizer for personalized sound. Calls are clearer thanks to Google AI noise reduction and a wind-blocking mesh.
The Tensor A1 chip powers the earbuds, providing fast noise adaptation and enabling features like Gemini voice assistance. Battery life reaches 7 hours with ANC on and up to 20 hours with the charging case. A quick 5-minute charge gives 1 hour of playback.
The Pixel Buds 2a integrate with Google’s ecosystem. With Talk with Gemini, users can get directions, check emails, or control tasks hands-free. Tap controls allow play, pause, track skipping, and ANC/Transparency switching. They also support Pixel-Perfect Pairing, multipoint device switching, and Find Hub for locating earbuds, even when they’re inside the case.
Google highlights sustainability with the Pixel Buds 2a. The earbuds use 41% recycled materials, 100% recycled rare earth elements in magnets, 100% recycled tin in solder paste, and 100% recycled cobalt in batteries. The packaging is plastic-free, and the charging case has a replaceable battery.

The Google Pixel Buds 2a are priced at Rs. 12,999 in India, available in Hazel and Iris colors. Global availability, including India, begins in October 2025.
