Apex Legends is bringing a big update on August 5. The game is adding a new game mode called Wildcard, and it will be permanent. Respawn says this mode will offer a faster-paced experience compared to the usual battle royale.

This new mode is made for fast-paced action. When you eliminate an enemy, they will not drop a death box. Instead, their loot will scatter around, making it easier to grab what you need quickly. Another major change is legend stacking. In Wildcard, you and your teammates can all pick the same character. This adds a fun twist to the usual gameplay.

Wildcard also gives you second chances. So, if you get knocked out early, you will have another shot at winning the game.

Respawn has also made changes to the Kings Canyon map. There are new ziplines, gravity cannons, and other exciting elements to make the map more fun to explore.

Interestingly, this mode comes just weeks after Fortnite added its own fast-paced game mode called Blitz Royale. But Wildcard still brings fresh excitement to Apex Legends, especially for players who have not played in a while.

There are more changes coming in the Showdown season. Caustic gets a new ability called Field Research, and his gas attacks will also deal more damage now. Bangalore’s smoke canister will be stronger. It can break doors and has a new EMP upgrade.

Respawn is also adding Amps, which are powerful passive boosts. These can give you infinite ammo, more armor, or faster healing during mid-to-late stages of the game.

If you love Apex Legends, this is the perfect time to jump back in.
