We already know that Nothing Phone (3) is coming on July 1. The company recently confirmed the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 as the SoC of choice. Now, there is more good news. The company’s co-founder, Akis Evangelidis, has revealed that the Nothing Phone (3) will get 7 years of software support.

In a reply on X (formerly Twitter), Akis said the phone will receive 5 years of Android updates and 7 years of security patches. This is a major upgrade compared to the Nothing Phone (2), which offered 3 years of Android updates and 4 years of security updates.

When asked why Nothing chose the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 instead of the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, Akis explained that the 8s Gen 3 offers better balance in terms of GPU, NPU, connectivity, and ISP, while also allowing extended software support.

This makes the Nothing Phone (3) a good long-term option for users who want regular updates and security support for many years.

In India, the Nothing Phone (3) will be available exclusively on Flipkart. The launch event is scheduled for 10:30 pm IST on July 1.
