NetEase Games has announced a brand-new AAA game called Blood Message. It is a single-player, story-driven action-adventure game. The game is being developed for PC and consoles, but the release date has not been confirmed yet.
This is NetEase Games’ first major single-player title. It is being developed by 24 Entertainment Lin’an, a new studio under Thunder Fire Studio. The game is powered by Unreal Engine 5 and includes special tools made by the developers themselves.
Blood Message tells the emotional and intense story of a nameless messenger and his young son. The two are caught in the middle of a righteous uprising during the final years of the Tang Dynasty in ancient China. Their mission is simple but dangerous—deliver a message that could change the fate of their war-torn land.
The game will take players on a 3,000-li journey (about 1,000 miles) across deserts, wild forests, and war zones as the father and son travel back to Chang’an, the capital of the Tang Empire. The story is filled with themes like loyalty, survival, family, and sacrifice.
