SEGA has announced that Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the newly announced Nintendo Switch 2. The game was released on Steam earlier this year. Now it is coming to consoles with cross-play and rollback netcode.

Seiji Aoki, the producer of the Virtua Fighter series, shared the news during the Virtua Fighter Direct 2025 Spring event. He said that the team had received many requests for a console release. He also said they want players on all platforms to enjoy the game.

The best part is that this will not be just a simple port. The console version will support cross-platform play. It will also have the same rollback netcode as the Steam version. That means smoother and more stable online matches. This is important for a game like Virtua Fighter where timing is everything.

Aoki also teased that there will be more content in this version. We do not know what it is yet, but it sounds like SEGA is planning something big. Maybe new characters, modes, or extras that were not in the Steam version.

Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. is known for its deep and technical gameplay. It does not rely on flashy effects or long cutscenes. It is about skill, reflexes, and strategy. With support for cross-play and rollback netcode, it is ready for the current generation of fighting games.
