Bethesda has officially announced The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. After recent leaks, the remaster is now confirmed and available starting today. The game is priced at $49.99 and is available on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X / S. It is also included with Xbox Game Pass.
Developed by Virtuous, Oblivion Remastered brings the classic 2006 RPG into the modern era with updated visuals and refined gameplay. The entire game has been rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5. Every single asset has been recreated from scratch. This makes the world of Cyrodiil more immersive than ever. From improved shadows to realistic environments, the game now looks completely modern.
The remaster also includes all story expansions like Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine. It also comes with extra downloadable content such as Fighter’s Stronghold, Wizard’s Tower, Mehrune’s Razor, and more. These are all part of the $49.99 standard edition.
If you want more, the $59.99 Deluxe Edition gives you exclusive gear including the Avatar of Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon armor and weapon sets.
According to Bethesda’s Todd Howard, Oblivion was a defining moment in the Elder Scrolls series. The remaster aims to stay true to that original experience while improving many gameplay systems. The user interface, leveling system, audio, and animations have all been modernized. The third-person camera has also been improved, and characters now have new animations. Sprinting has been added too—something fans have wanted for years.
