Several Microsoft services, including Outlook and Microsoft 365, are reportedly down across different regions. The disruption, which began around 4 p.m. Eastern Time, left users across the globe unable to access critical services.

According to Downdetector, the outages began just before 4 p.m. Eastern Time. Users primarily in New York City and Toronto reported issues accessing Microsoft’s services. The affected services included Outlook, Microsoft 365, Exchange, Teams, and Microsoft Store.

Many complained about difficulties connecting to the server, preventing them from using essential productivity tools. The outage appeared to impact both personal and business accounts.

As of now, Microsoft has not provided an official explanation for the outage. I also checked the official Service health page, but the current status of all Microsoft services looks fine. It’s a bit surprising that it has been over 30 minutes and Microsoft has yet to acknowledge or provide any explanation.

UPDATE: Microsoft has finally acknowledged the issue, and the company is currently investigating it. However, Microsoft has yet to provide details on what caused the outage or when full service restoration can be expected.

UPDATE 2: Update 2: Microsoft has confirmed that the majority of impacted services are now recovering.

While some users reported that services were intermittently returning, we still don’t know if the issue was due to a technical fault, a cyberattack, or any other problem.

UPDATE 3:

The issue has been finally resolved and all the services are now working.

We will update this story as more details emerge.
