Death Stranding 2: On the Beach

Hideo Kojima is back with another mind-bending experience. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is officially set to launch on June 26, 2025, for PlayStation 5. The game will be priced at $69.99, with pre-orders starting on March 17.

For those looking to enhance their experience, multiple editions of the game are available:

  • Standard Edition ($69.99): Includes the full game.
  • Digital Deluxe Edition ($79.99): Comes with exclusive in-game items such as the “Battle Skeleton: Gold” (LV1, LV2, LV3), “Bokka Skeleton: Gold” (LV1, LV2, LV3), an early unlock of the “Machine Gun (MP Bullets) LV1,” and three special patches.
  • Collector’s Edition ($229.99): Offers a collector’s box, a digital game download, a 15-inch Magellan Man statue, a set of art cards, a letter from Hideo Kojima, a three-inch Dollman figurine, and all the in-game content from the Digital Deluxe Edition.

All pre-orders include early unlocks for cosmetic and functional in-game items like the “Custom Hologram: Quokka” and various battle skeletons.

Kojima debuted a 10-minute trailer at SXSW 2025. The video shows stunning visuals and an eerie atmosphere. It features Sam (Norman Reedus) traversing treacherous landscapes, battling harsh weather, and facing terrifying creatures.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach follows the success of the 2019 original, which gained a cult following and led to a director’s cut, multiple ports, and an upcoming live-action adaptation in collaboration with A24. The game boasts an all-star cast, including Léa Seydoux (Fragile), George Miller (Tarman), Troy Baker (Higgs), Elle Fanning (Tomorrow), Shioli Kutsuna (Rainy), and more.

One of the standout moments in the trailer is Neil (played by Luca Marinelli) donning a bandana that strongly resembles Solid Snake’s from Metal Gear Solid. This detail has fans buzzing, as Kojima is known for his intricate storytelling and connections to his past works.
