Apple has introduced its new Powerbeats Pro 2 with a heart rate monitoring feature. This is a flagship model targeting fitness enthusiasts. It also comes with a new design, upgraded audio performance, and several new features.
Earbuds are now sleeker and have a rubberized body for a more comfortable grip. The ear hooks are now made from a new nickel-titanium alloy frame that makes it sturdier and more flexible for a better fit. If we compare it with the predecessor, earbuds are 20% lighter. Beats also calls it their best-fitting headphones.
Beats has significantly improved the audio performance of the Powerbeats Pro 2. It now features a custom-designed, dual-layer transducer that works with an upgraded amplifier to deliver richer, more balanced sound. The transducers are axially aligned for precise audio output, and the new acoustically transparent mesh helps improve call clarity in windy conditions.
The device is powered by Apple’s latest H2 chip. It enables an advanced active noise cancellation (ANC) system and a transparency mode for better situational awareness. Spatial Audio with head tracking further enhances the immersive experience, particularly when used with Apple devices. Additionally, Adaptive EQ automatically adjusts the sound profile to match the ear canal’s shape, but this feature is available only when ANC or Transparency Mode is turned off.
The device has a built-in heart rate monitoring. Each earbud houses an optical sensor that continuously tracks blood flow in real-time. The data integrates seamlessly with Apple’s Health app and can also sync with third-party fitness applications via available APIs. This makes Powerbeats Pro 2 an ideal companion for serious athletes and health-conscious users.
Powerbeats Pro 2 can also provide low-latency lossless audio to Apple Vision Pro users. The device is rated to offer 8 hours of battery life and up to 36 hours with a charging case. Without ANC, battery life increases to 10 hours and up to 45 hours with the charging case. The charging case supports USB-C and Qi-based wireless charging.
Each earbud includes a multi-function button for volume control, playback, and enabling or disabling heart rate monitoring. It ensures easy access to controls even during workouts. The earbuds weigh approximately 9 grams each. They are available in Jet Black, Quick Sand, Hyper Purple, and Electric Orange color options. The Powerbeats Pro 2 is rated IPX4 for sweat and water resistance, making them suitable for intense workouts and outdoor activities.
The Powerbeats Pro 2 are priced at Rs 29,900 and shipping starts on February 14th.
