It seems Apple is set to launch the M4 MacBook Air Soon. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the new MacBook Air with M4 could arrive as early as March. Apple is reportedly working on preparing its marketing, sales, and retail teams.
Apple introduced the M3 MacBook Air in March 2024. Later the company introduced the M4 chip with iPad Pro and it has already launched the Mac mini, iMac, and MacBook Pro with M4 chips in October. Only the MacBook is waiting for an upgrade.
The upcoming MacBook Air models are expected to retain the familiar 13-inch and 15-inch sizes. With the M4 chip, Apple’s thinnest laptop will get a notable boost in both CPU and GPU power.
The laptop also appeared on Geekbench with 24GB of unified RAM and a base frequency of 4.41 GHz. Geekbench scores also indicate a significant jump in CPU and GPU performance. It achieved a score of 54,806, compared to the 41,045 scored by its M3 predecessor.
While Apple hasn’t officially confirmed the launch date of M4 MacBook Air yet, the time aligns with previous refresh cycles. We should also expect improvement in battery efficiency. However, the laptop should retain the same design and display.
Mac Studio and Mac Pro are still powered by M2 chips. These devices could get an M4 chip upgrade by June this year.
