Apple has officially unveiled the iPhone 16e, the latest addition to its smartphone lineup. Previously rumored to launch as the iPhone SE 4, this new model now joins the existing iPhone 16 series.
iPhone 16e features a 6.1-inch OLED Super Retina XDR display with up to 1200 nits brightness and Ceramic Shield protection. The phone packs an A18 chipset with a Hexa-core processor, 4‑core GPU, and 16‑core Neural Engine.
The phone also gets Apple Intelligence. Offering several AI-driven features. The Clean Up tool allows users to remove distractions from images effortlessly. Users can search for photos using natural language search. It also has Genmoji, AI Writing Tools, and Siri Upgrades including conversational, intuitive, and integrated with ChatGPT.
It also has an Action button that gives easy access to a variety of functions with just a press. Users can customize the button to launch the camera, activate Voice Memos, switch between Ring and Silent modes, recognize music via Shazam, and even interact with third-party apps. Additionally, the Action button enhances visual intelligence. It enables users to identify objects, translate text, and retrieve contextual information from ChatGPT or Google search.
The phone has 48 megapixels primary camera with OIS and 2x Telephoto. It can record HDR videos with Dolby Vision at 4K 60 fps and Slo‑mo 1080p at 240fps. It also has a Cinematic mode that can record up to 4K HDR at 30 fps. The phone also features Night Mode for good low-light photography and Portrait Mode for enhanced depth and clarity. It has a 12-megapixel TrueDepth camera. It can also record HDR videos with Dolby Vision up to 4K at 60 fps. The phone has a TrueDepth camera for FaceID facial recognition.
iPhone 16e is also IP68-rated to offer dust and water resistance. It features a sleek and durable design and will be available in two elegant matte finishes: black and white.
This phone comes with Apple’s first 5G modem with an all-new internal design. It also has satellite features in select countries to offer Emergency SOS, Roadside Assistance, Messages, and Find My via satellite. It also has 5G, Gigabit-class LTE, 802.11be Wi-Fi 7 with 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC with reader mode, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and BeiDou connectivity options.
iPhone 16e promises battery life with up to 26 hours of video playback. It has a USB-C for charging and supports wireless charging.
