YouTube Premium Adds High-Quality Audio, Picture-in-Picture for Shorts, and More Exciting Features

YouTube has added a few new experimental features and exclusive perks for Premium users. These features will surely make YouTube Premium more attractive to users.

One of the most notable new features is the support for High-Quality Audio. Premium users can now enjoy enhanced 256kbps audio on music videos for a better audio experience.

YouTube has now added Picture-in-Picture for Shorts. However, the feature is only for iOS. So, users can watch Shorts while browsing other apps. YouTube for iOS will also now automatically download recommended Shorts for offline viewing.

The company has also added a “Jump Ahead” feature for the web. It lets users skip directly to the best parts of a video while browsing.

Mobile users will soon get playback speed options up to 4x for more control over their viewing experience.

YouTube is soon launching Ask Music for Android users in the UK and Ireland. The feature generates custom radio stations based on music preferences.

YouTube users in the US will now get YouTube Premium with a Google One Premium plan. This combo includes ad-free YouTube, 2 TB of cloud storage, and exclusive Google One perks.

The video platform has also announced a Conversational AI feature for iOS. The feature will answer questions, recommend related content, and provide seamless assistance without interrupting your video playback.
