Lenovo has expanded its handheld gaming device portfolio with the announcement of the Legion Go S. It is an affordable alternative to its predecessor, the Legion Go, which debuted in 2023. The device is available in both Windows 11 Home and SteamOS versions

Legion Go S has a sleek and modern design consorted from durable plastic. It is available in Glacier White and Nebula Violet colors. The device has an array of 23 buttons, including Hall Effect joysticks with customizable RGB lighting.

The device features an 8-inch touchscreen with 1920 x 1200 px and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display has a 16:10 aspect ratio and 500 nits peak brightness.

It is configurable with either AMD’s Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor or the newly developed Ryzen Z2 Go processor. The AMD co-developed Ryzen Z2 Go processor with Lenovo. It features 4x Zen 3 cores with eight threads and a 4.3Ghz max boost alongside an RDNA 2 GPU with 12 cores. It also comes with up to 32GB 6400MHz LPDDR5X RAM and 1 TB PCIe SSD on the high-end variant. The base model features 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.

Legion Go S features a custom ColdFront tech cooling system that includes a large fan and large heat sinks to keep the temperature under control.

It also includes 2x USB4 ports (Thunderbolt 4, DisplayPort 1.4, and Power Delivery 3.0), a headphone jack, and a microSD card slot. For wireless connectivity, it has WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.

Legion Go S packs a 55.5 Whr battery which supports 65W charging.
