Grok, the AI assistant developed by xAI, has now been launched as a standalone app. Right now the app is available for iOS, but the Android app should be available soon. Grok lets users generate images, summarize text, and answer questions with a conversation.

It was launched back in 2023 as an integrated AI assistant in the social media platform X. It required an X premium subscription, however, the company decided to provide free access to Grok last month. At the same time, the company began testing the Grok app with a limited number of users.

Grok app doesn’t force users to sign in. However, you can get a more personalized experience if you sign in. You can use an Apple, X, or Google account, or email to sign into the app.

Grok.com is also now accessible on the web. You can use it the same way you use ChatGPT and ask for help. It provides the same powerful features found in the standalone app, including image generation, text summarization, and question answering, all accessible directly from their web browsers.

Grok distinguishes itself from competitors like Gemini and ChatGPT with its bold approach. It can also answer those questions that other AI assistants might avoid. Grok also has access to X’s real-time data. So, it can answer on latest topics. Grok AI model is open source and is accessible to the developer community.
