Amazon has introduced the latest iteration of its Echo Spot smart alarm clock in India. It is the successor to the original model of Echo Spot launched in 2018. The new Echo Spot boasts a modern design akin to the Echo Pop. It comes with a host of new features while omitting certain functionalities like video calling and smart home camera integration.

The new Echo Spot features a 2.83-inch touchscreen display that can show weather updates, time, and more. Users can choose from eight clock face designs and six vibrant color themes—orange, violet, magenta, lime, teal, and blue.
There’s a 1.73-inch front-firing speaker that delivers clear audio for streaming music, podcasts, and audiobooks from popular services like Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, and JioSaavn. It also displays song information and lets users manage playback and volume through voice commands or physical buttons.
The device has a seamless smart home integration to connect to compatible smart devices. It also supports Alexa Routines in automating sequences of actions to enhance daily convenience. The device’s Ultrasound Motion Detection feature further enables routines that trigger based on user presence.
While the new Echo Spot omits video calling, it supports audio calls to other Alexa-enabled devices. It also offers announcements for household-wide messaging and a Drop In feature for instant audio connections.
To offer privacy, it includes a microphone on/off button. Users can also view and delete their voice recordings through the Alexa app.
The Echo Spot is now available in Black and Blue on Amazon.in, Blinkit, and at Croma’s online and offline stores. It is priced at Rs. 8,999, but the device is currently offered at a limited-time introductory price of Rs. 6,449.
