Clear River Games in collaboration with the Japanese publisher and developer City Connection has announced the release date of Under Defeat for modern consoles. The game will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch on December 5, 2024. Physical copies will also need to be available for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.
The digital version of the game will also be released on Xbox and for PC via Steam. However, the company has yet to confirm the release date for these platforms.
Under Defeat is a popular arcade shooter game that was originally launched back in 2005. The modern version of the game promises to offer the ultimate experience of the game with DLC content that was previously exclusive to Japan. The game is set in an alternate reality where players take control of a heavily armed helicopter and battle against their enemies,
The game includes three modes: Arcade Mode, New Order Mode, and New Order Mode+.
- Arcade Mode: A faithful recreation of the original 2005 arcade experience. It is presented in a 4:3 aspect ratio with a vertical screen layout.
- New Order Mode: A reimagined take on the classic that is tailored for modern displays in a widescreen 16:9 format. It promises enhanced dynamic action.
- New Order Mode+: An evolved version that features additional gameplay mechanics, including a ‘WARNING GAUGE’ that introduces a risk/reward system for heightened strategic play.
