On the occasion of World Television Day, India’s national public broadcaster Prasar Bharati has launched its own over-the-top (OTT) platform, Waves during the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.. Waves promises to be a comprehensive solution for entertainment lovers across India. The platform promises to offer live TV channels, movies, interactive games, live events, and even online shopping features in a multilingual and user-friendly app.
Waves brings over 65 live channels including popular news, entertainment, and regional content. The app also has a vast library of movies and series alongside educational documentaries, ebooks, and content that celebrates India’s history and culture.
You can also engage with interactive games and enjoy a seamless online shopping experience through integration with the ONDC platform. The app also lets you explore historical milestones and national legends through visuals and ebooks.
Waves also hosts significant live events including religious broadcasts like Ayodhya’s Prabhu Shriram Lalla Aarti, government broadcasts, such as Mann Ki Baat, and International sports events, including major cricket tournaments like the US Premier League.
Waves yes BharatNet infrastructure that aligns with the government’s Digital India initiative to promote digital inclusion. So, it aims to ensure that the OTT platform is accessible to everyone, regardless of location or economic status.
