Qualcomm has silently introduced its latest mobile platform Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. The chipset has been listed on the official website and is for mid-range smartphones. This SoC is the successor to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and offers significant improvements in various areas. If you are wondering why I didn’t mention the Snapdragon 6 Gen 2, the company skipped it.
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 comes with a faster Qualcomm Kryo CPU, clocked at up to 2.4 GHz. It has 4 high-performance Cortex-A78 cores and 2 Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. It promises 10% improved CPU performance. The mobile platform also features Adreno GPU that also boasts 30% better performance graphics perforce. The Hexagon NPU also claims 20% better AI performance of the Qualcomm AI Engine. It also supports 3200 MHz LPDDR5 RAM.
The mobile platform has up to 16 MP triple camera, up to 32+16 MP dual camera, and up to 48 MP single camera with ZSL. It can offer up to 200MP Photo Capture. The SoC also has a Qualcomm Spectra Image Sensor Processor.
It also supports 4K HDR Video Capture and supports HEVC, H.264 formats. The SoC supports slow-mo video capture at 720p at 240 FPS.
It supports FHD+ @ 120 Hz on-device display.
It also supports Wi-Fi 6E, 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) Multi-gigabit, Integrated 802.11ax, 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6GHz, Bluetooth 5.2, LE Audio, LE Audio, Snapdragon Sound Technology Suite, with support for Qualcomm aptX Voice, aptX Lossless,
aptX Adaptive, and NFC. The built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon 5G supports up to 2.9Gpbs 5G download speeds.
Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology.
