India’s festive season is coming and Indian shoppers are preparing for their purchases during the festive season. We all know that online retailers also hold big sales during this festive season. So, Ipsos Research Private Limited did research to find out the mood of Indian shoppers. It is important to note that the study conducted by Ipsos Research Private Limited was commissioned by Amazon.
The study reveals that 71% of customers are excited to ship online during the festive season and around 73% are trusting Amazon as their go-to destination for online shopping. It was also revealed that around 44% of respondents are planning to spend more than last year during the festive season. And surge was seen across metros and tier-2 cities.
75% of respondents have praised Amazon for offering a wide variety of products and 72% said that attractive deals are the reason for preferring Amazon.
“The festive season is a time for us to delight our customers with a wide selection and great value,” said Saurabh Srivastava, Vice President – Categories at Amazon India.
Fashion and Electronics are two major categories. Amazon is the preferred choice of customers in both categories. 35% of respondents found Amazon as top choice for categories like apparel, footwear, and accessories. On the other hand. 69% of respondents have confidence in buying electronics on Amazon.
Digital payments are also rising and 64% of customers prefer UPI as their primary payment method. The primary reason for preferring UPI is the rewards and cashback offers.
Amazon has already announced its Great Indian Festival sale. Although we don’t know the exact dates, customers are already excited to avail of big offers and card discounts.
