Motorola has officially announced the Motorola Edge 50 neo. The phone is similar to the Motorola Edge 50, but comes with a smaller 6.4-inch display and a different SoC.
Motorola Edge 50 neo features a 6.4-inch 1.5K pOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3000 nits peak brightness. To protect the display from accidental drops and scratches, the company has also added Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection at the top of the display.
The phone is powered by an Octa Core MediaTek Dimensity 7300 4nm processor and Mali-G615 MC2 GPU. It also in 8GB+256GB and 12+512GB models. The company has used LPDDR4X RAM and uMCP storage. uMCP is a disappointment in the era when people actually don’t even like eMMC storage.
The camera setup includes 50 50-megapixel primary camera with a Sony LYTIA 700C sensor and OIS. It also has 13 megapixel 120° ultra-wide camera and 10 megapixel 3x Telephoto camera. It also has 32 megapixel front camera for selfies. The phone can record up to 4K videos from the rear and front cameras.
Motorola edge 50 neo has an in-display fingerprint sensor. It also has 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax (2.4GHz/5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, and USB Type-C connectivity. The phone packs a 4310mAh battery with support for 68W Turbocharging and 15W wireless charging.
Motorola edge 50 neo is IP68 dust and water-resistant. It also has MIL-STD 810H certification for military-grade durability. The phone measures 154.1 x 71.2 x 8.1 mm and weighs 171g. Motorola edge 50 neo comes in Pantone Poinciana, Pantone Lattè, Pantone Grisaille, and Pantone Nautical Blue colors.
The phone is voiced at 499 Euros in Europe and 449.99 GBP in the UK for 12GB + 512GB model. It is already available I selected European markets and the UK. The phone will also be available in other markets including Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Oceania in the coming months.
The phone offers a comfortable grip and a premium feel. It has capable cameras, but slow storage can lead to slower app loading times. It also has an average battery life.
