Amazon introduced next-day delivery in India in 2014 and added same-day delivery for Prime members in 2017. Amazon customers also admire the fast delivery provided by the e-commerce platform. To keep offering a good shopping experience, the company keeps expanding the range of items available for same-day and next-day delivery. Now Prime members can enjoy unlimited same-day delivery on over 10 lakh items and next-day delivery on more than 40 lakh items on Amazon.in.
Amazon India has fulfillment centers across 15 states In India. It also has sortation centres across 19 states working with over 1,950 delivery stations operated by Amazon and local entrepreneurs. Amazon also boasts of having 28,000 third-party delivery partners to ensure fast delivery.
Amazon has also set a new record for delivery speeds for Prime members in 2024 globally, It delivered over 5 billion items in same or next day. The company also claims that nearly 50% of all Prime member orders arrived the next day or even faster so far in 2024.
The e-commerce giant also uses AI to impair delivery speed and efficiency. Machine learning has helped Amazon to expand its product selection.
Amazon claims that it is committed to offering a wide selection, low prices, and fast delivery to meet customer demands.
As per a recent report, Amazon will also invest $15 billion in India by 2031 and has already infused $11 billion into India until now. It also aims to digitize 10 million small businesses and generate two million employment opportunities in India by 2025.
