Along with its latest foldable phone MIX Fold 4, Xiaomi also announced its first flip phone MIX Flip in China.
MIX Flip features a 6.86-inch 1.5K 120Hz LTPO display with up to 3000 nits peak. It also has 2160Hz PWM Dimming and DC Dimming. The display supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. The display is also protected by UTG glass protection. The company has also added a 4-inch converter display with 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3000 nits peak brightness. The external display also supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision The company has used Xiaomi Shield Glass protection on the outer display.
The phone has a compact dual-link hinge that uses the same high-strength materials as the MIX Fold 4. Xiaomi claims that the hinge can survive 500,000 times folding and unfolding. It is also certified by SGS reliable folding certification
The flip phone packs 3.3GHz Octa Core Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 4nm processor and Adreno 750 GPU. It comes in three different RAM and storage variants: 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, and 16GB+1TB. Mix Flip has LPPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.
The phone runs HyperOS based on Android 14.
The rear camera setup includes 50 megapixels primary camera with Light Fusion 800 sensor and OIS. It also has 50 megapixels OmniVision OV60A40 2x telephoto camera that can also capture macro shots. The phone can record up to 8K videos. It also has 32 megapixels front-facing camera.
Xiaomi has also added Xiaomi AISP large model computational photography platform that supports advanced imaging scenarios with up to 60 TOPS of processing power.
MIX Flip also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and an infrared sensor. For good audio performance, the phone has Dual speakers and support for Hi-Res audio.
It has 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6E 802.11 ax, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, QZSS, NavIC, USB Type-C 2 Gen 1, and NFC.
Mix Flip packs a 4780mAh silicon-carbon battery and supports 67W fast charging. The battery can maintain at least 80% capacity after 1600 charge cycles.
The 12GB+256GB version of MIX Flip costs 5999 yuan and 12GB+512GB model is priced at 6499 yuan. The top end 16GB+1TB model of Mix Flip will be available for 7299 yuan. The phone is now available in China and will go on sale starting July 23rd.
