Qualcomm introduces Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 Chipset for Entry-Level 5G Smartphones

Qualcomm today announced its latest chipset Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 for entry-level 5G smartphones in India. Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 targets the Indian market and aims to power good devices in an affordable segment.

Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 is built on a 64-bit architecture and is manufactured using 4nm process. It features an octa-core CPU with two performance cores and six efficiency cores. The two performance cores have a clock speed of 2.0 GHz and efficiency cores run at 1.8 GHz. The SoC also includes Adreno GPU offering support for OpenGL ES 3.2, Vulkan 1.1, and OpenCL 2.0 APIs. The SoC supports LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.1 onboard storage.

Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 has a 12-bit Spectra Image Signal Processor that supports 84-megapixel single camera, EIS, and Multi Frame Noise Reduction. It supports full-HD+ displays with a 90Hz refresh rate and can offer up to 1080p video playback at 60fps.

The chipset supports USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 1 interface, Qualcomm’s Location Suite, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 5, and Quick Charge 4+ technology. The company is adding a slower 5G modem rated at 1Gbps download speeds.
