OpenAI has introduced an Advanced Voice Mode for its ChatGPT Plus users. This new mode provides more natural and real-time conversations. The company demonstrated this feature in May when it introduce GPT-4o.

The Advanced Voice Mode is different from the Voice Mode that is currently available in ChatGPT. It can provide lower latency conversations and can also sense emotional intonations in your voice. Users can also interrupt the AI chatbot at any time. Users are getting four preset voices for now. It promises to provide a human-like interaction with the AI chatbot.

It can also understand complex language, nuances, and context for a more meaning conversation.

The feature is being rolled out in alpha phase for a small group of Plus users. Users who are the part of selected group can try the advanced Voice Mode by tapping on the icon at the right side of text box.

When OpenAI demonstrated the feature, The Sky voice was criticized for sounding similar to Scarlett Johansson. Johansson also hired legal counsel to take this matter to court. OpenAI denied using Johansson’s voice and later removed the voice.
