At its annual World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC), Apple announced the updated Siri. Siri now has a new look and a new icon. It can also now better understand natural language context.

Siri now feels more natural, more personal, and more relevant. Apple’s voice assistant pops up with a glowing light that goes around the edges of your phone’s screen.

Siri is now also being integrated into native Apple apps. It will be able to take actions within the apps via voice commands. For example, you can ask Siri to open the photo in edit mode and adjust its brightness and contrast.

Apple has also partnered with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT into Siri. ChatGPT will be available for free later this year with iOS 18. Apple has promised that user queries won’t be logged.

For example, if you ask Siri to provide you with a recipe for something, Siri will ask ChatGPT and provide you with the answer. Users will also be able to ask questions related to photos, documents, or PDFs by including these files with your questions.

Apple will also integrate ChatGPT into system-wide writing tools to let you create content with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT integration will come to iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and MacOS later this year. It won’t require a ChatGPT or OpenAI account. If you already have OpenAI’s ChatGPT premium plans, you will be able to access paid features within Siri.
