During the WWDC 2924 keynote, Apple also announced Game Mode as a part of the upcoming iOS 18. Game Mode optimizes your phone for better gaming experience.

Just like in macOS, iPhone users won’t have to enable the Game Mode manually. Your phone will enter the Game Mode automatically if you open a game.

Game Mode will minimize the iPhone’s background activities to ensure constant high frame rates. It will also reduce latency if you are using a Bluetooth game controller. In the same way, it will reduce when using AirPods.

You won’t see many benefits of Game Mode while playing casual games, but you will certainly see a difference with AAA games like Resident Evil. Several AAA games are already coming to iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Game mode is already available on the Mac, but Mac has yet to get a good portfolio of games.
