At WWDC 2024, Apple introduced its new password manager app called Passwords. The app is being added to most of Apple’s operating systems including iOS, macOS, iPadOS, and VisionOS. The app will also be available for Windows via iCloud.

Passwords is a password manager app that lets users keep login credentials of different websites and apps in one place. The app also lets generate complex passwords and keep all login details safe. One can also import passwords from other password managers.

Passwords app is powered by Apple’s iCloud Keychain. It will keep various user logins and will also categorize them for easy access. Users can bypass manual password typing by using Face ID, Touch ID, and autofill.

Apple will provide a deeper integration of Passwords to iOS, iPadOS, and MacOS. So, it will be a better option than using other third-party password managers.

Passwords app is free and will be available later this year when Apple releases iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and MacOS 15. The app will surely hurt other password manager apps such as 1Password, LastPass, and Bitwarden.
