YouTube rolls out playable to all users

YouTube Playables

YouTube has today rolled out ‘Playables’ to all users. Playables is a gaming section on YouTube that lets users play free games within YouTube. The company initially tested Playable in select regions and later added it for YouTube Premium subscribers in November 2023.

To access Playable on YouTube, go to the Explore section and find Playable. Now you can choose from more than 75 games to play. Just tap and play. There is no need to download or install anything to play these games. It also lets you share the game with friends to ask them to play. YouTube playable also saves your game progress. It also tracks your best scores.

YouTube Playables include some of the popular titles like Angry Birds Showdown, Cut the Rope, Words of Wonders,, Tomb of the Mask, and Trivia Crack.

YouTube Playables seems similar to Netflix games, but you need to install games on Netflix separately. On the other hand, YouTube Playable games doesn’t require any downloads. It also doesn’t challenge app store model because YouTube isn’t monetising these games.

Although the company has confirmed globa rollout, but it should be available to all users in coming weeks. You may not instantly see Playables section on YouTube.
