Google’s AI Magic Editor is coming to all Google Photos users

Google’s AI Magic Editor is coming to all Google Photos users

Google’s Magic Editor is one of the notable features of Google Photos. It was initially launched as an exclusive feature for Pixel 8 users. The feature lets users remove objects from a photo, resize subjects, change color or sky, and more. Later, the company brought the feature to users who subscribe to Google One plan with 2TB of storage or higher. Now the company is rolling out the feature to all Google Photos users for free.

Starting May 15, the company will bring its AI-powered editing tools including Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, and Portrait Light will be available to all users on Google Photos. It won’t require a Google One subscription. The only catch is that it limits to 10 saved edits per month for free. If you are a Pixel owner and a paid subscriber, you will get unlimited use.

Here’s a list of features coming to Google Photos at no additional cost:

  • Magic Eraser
  • Unblur
  • Sky suggestions
  • Color pop
  • HDR effect for photos & videos
  • Portrait blur
  • Portrait light
    • Add light/Balance light features in the Portrait light tool
  • Cinematic photos
  • Styles in collage editor
  • Video effects

These features will roll out over the coming months to devices that meet minimum requirements criteria.

Other generative AI features such as Best Take and Audio Magic Eraser will remain exclusive to the newest Pixels.
