India’s number 1 audio brand boAt is the recent victim of the data breach. Records of more than 7.5 million customers are up for sale on a black hat–hacking forum.

The leaked data includes Email, Names, Phone numbers, order count, complete addresses, Purchases, and Website Activity. The full leaked database has a total of 75,50,000 entries The seller also provided sample data that seems legit.

The only good thing is that the leaked data doesn’t include passwords. However, it still has records that can be used to perform malicious activities against boAt consumers.

The company has yet to respond to the breach. But the records are legit. The seller has not confirmed how he managed to obtain records.

The data has personally identifiable details, that can be further used to perform social engineering and phishing attacks against the boAt customers. If you have been a customer who purchased boAt products in the past, I advise you to take extra care and avoid entertaining any boAt-related offers or calls.
