Apple has introduced the latest MacBook Air models powered by M3. Apple claims that the MacBook Air M3 is up to 60 percent faster than the MacBook Air M1 and promises up to 18 hours of battery life. The new Macbook Air comes in 13-inch and 15-inch models.
MacBook Air M3 is offered in both 13.6-inch and 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display. The display panel has up to 500 nits of brightness. The new MacBook Air M3 also supports up to two external displays when the laptop is closed.
With Apple’s M3 chip, the new MacBook Air is now the most powerful MacBook Air laptop available in the market. M3 chip includes an 8-core CPU, up to a 10-core GPU, and support for up to 24GB of unified memory. The 16-core Neural Engine can run optimized AI models and the built-in GPU allows ray tracing and mesh shading. The base model offers 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD storage that goes up to 24GB RAM and 2TB SSD storage in the top model.
Apple claims that the MacBook Air with M3 can offer up to 2x faster performance, up to 50 percent faster web browsing, and up to 40 percent longer battery life as compared to laptops powered by Intel Core i7 processor.
The new MacBook Air features a 1080p FaceTime camera, three microphones along with support for spatial audio and Dolby Atmos. The laptop has a quiet backlit Magic Keyboard and Touch ID.
The new MacBook Air features Wi-Fi 6E. It also has MagSafe charging and two Thunderbolt ports along with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Apple ships the laptop with a 35W Dual USB-C port compact adapter, but customers can also select a 70W USB-C Power Adapter if they want.
The new M3 MacBook Air comes in four colors, including starlight, space gray, and silver. The 13-inch MacBook Air costs $1,099 and the 15-inch model is priced at $1,299. Customers can pre-order starting today and shipping will begin on Friday, March 8.
