Xiaomi 14 Ultra with 6.73-inch 2K 120Hz display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 announced in China

Xiaomi has just unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, at an event in China. The phone comes with a 6.78-inch 2K display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, up to 16GB RAM, up to 1TB storage, quad camera, and 5300mAh battery.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra is crafted with a Unibody metal frame and the innovative Xiaomi Dragon Armor Architecture. It has a high-strength aluminum alloy and Ceramic Glass for robustness. The company claims that the phone’s aluminum frame has better-bending resistance than the iPhone’s titanium frame. The phone also holds an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

The device features a 6.78-inch 2K C8 OLED LTPO screen developed in collaboration with CSOT. The display panel offers a peak brightness of 3000 nits, a variable refresh rate from 1 to 120Hz, and support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. It even features 1920Hz PWM dimming for an enhanced visual experience. The display also has Xiaomi Ceramic Glass protection to protect the display. Xiaomi refers to the glass covering the display as Shield Glass. It boasts 10 times higher drop resistance and enhanced clarity. The screen’s corners are gently curved on all sides. This is called the All Around Liquid display.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The company has also introduced a new 4000mm² dual-circuit Circular cold pump cooling system Vapor-liquid separation design, promising performance three times better than traditional VC. The phone is offered with 12GB / 16GB LPPDDR5x RAM and 256GB / 512GB / 1TB UFS 4.0 storage.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra runs Android 14 with Xiaomi HyperOS

The camera setup is equally impressive. The smartphone features a quad rear camera, including a 50MP 1″ Sony LYT-900 sensor with a variable aperture, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, a 50MP 3.2X telephoto camera, and a 50MP 5x periscope telephoto camera. All sensors are equipped with Leica Summilux lenses. For selfies, the phone has a 32 megapixels OmniVision OV32B40 front-facing camera. The rear camera can record up to 8K videos and the front camera offers 4K video recording.

Connectivity options are 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 7 802.11 be, Bluetooth 5.4, Beidou, Galileo, GLONASS, GPS (L1 + L5), NavIC, USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 1, and NFC. There’s also a Titanium special edition that features Satellite communication. Xiaomi 14 Ultra has an in-display fingerprint sensor and an infrared sensor. The phone has Stereo speakers and supports Hi-Res audio along with Dolby Atmos.

The phone is powered by a 5300mAh battery with support for 90W wired charging. It can reach from 0 to 100% in just 34 minutes. The phone also supports 80W wireless charging that promises a full charge in 49 minutes. There is also support for 10W reverse wireless charging. Xiaomi has also added Surge P2 charging chipsets and Surge G1 battery management chipsets for efficient power management.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra

Xiaomi 14 Ultra is available in Dragon Crystal Blue (Ceramic), Black, and White (Vegan leather) colors. There is also a Xiaomi 14 Ultra Titanium Metal Special Edition, featuring aerospace-grade titanium alloy and high-strength aluminum alloy materials.

The phone starts at 6499 yuan for the 12GB+256GB version. The 16GB+512GB version is priced at 6999 yuan, and the 16GB+1TB version comes in at 7799 yuan. The device will hit the shelves on February 27th. The 16GB+1TB Titanium special edition with satellite communication comes at 8,799 yuan and will be available from March 12th.
