OnePlus has just launched its latest smartwatch, the OnePlus Watch 2, at MWC 2024 in Barcelona. The smartwatch has a unique dual OS and dual chip architecture along with impressive features. OnePlus Watch 2 aims to cater to the diverse needs of tech enthusiasts.
OnePlus Watch 2 boasts a sleek and durable design. It has rounded edges, a bulkier design, and a side Button. This watch also feels like a men’s watch. It is made of stainless steel with a brushed metal finish. There’s a 2.5D sapphire crystal glass with a gentle curvature at the edges.
It has military-grade durability to ensure resilience in challenging conditions. The watch also has a 5ATM + IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The smartwatch weighs 49g without the strap and 80g with the strap. It claims to be comfortable enough for daily usage.
The smartwatch features a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen with a peak brightness of 1000 nits. The display panel claims to have a 60Hz refresh rate and 466×466 pixels refresh rate. The display promises vibrant visuals and clear readability in various lighting conditions. There is also a scratch-resistant 2.5D sapphire glass protection for durability.
OnePlus Watch 2 is equipped with an extensive array of activity features, including over 100 sports modes, built-in dual-band GPS for accurate tracking, and activity tracking. It also has comprehensive health monitoring including heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, and stress detection capabilities.
The watch uses both Wear OS powered by Snapdragon W5 chip and proprietary OS (BES 2700) based on RTOS. RTOS and BES 2700 power background tasks and low-level activities such as connectivity, sleep, and heart rate tracking. When a user wants to interact with the watch, it uses a W5 chipset for powering Wear OS-specific features. The dual OS and dual chip architecture help it save a lot of power. OnePlus Watch 2 also has an OHealth app, that supports Health Connect by Android for efficient management of health data from various apps and devices.
Connectivity options are Bluetooth 5.3, Dual frequency L1+L5 Beidou, GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, and QZSS. Unfortunately, there is no cellular connectivity option. So, you will have to rely on Wi-Fi for data and Bluetooth for connectivity with the phone. It also has 32GB storage. Users can save their songs and enjoy standalone music playback. It also has speakers and a microphone for Bluetooth calling

OnePlus Watch 2 is available in Black Steel and Radiant Steel colors. It is priced at Rs. 24,999 in India. The watch will be available in the market with an open sale starting on March 4, 2024, at 12 pm.
