Nothing Phone 2a: Everything we know about till date

Nothing is a relatively new brand in the smartphone segment, but has already made a lot of buzz. In three years of its inception, the company launched two smartphones: Nothing Phone (1) and Nothing Phone (2). Now the company is set to launch a mid-range phone Nothing Phone 2a. We still don’t know when the phone will be launched, but we have seen several leaks, a few renders, and reports talking about the upcoming phone. In this article, I will put everything we know about Nothing Phone 2a till date.

There have been conflicting renders of Nothing Phone 2a. So, we have no clear idea of the design. Dylan Roussel, a popular leaker, claims that the phone will feature s redesigned back with only three Glyph lights. However, Glyph controls should remain similar to Nothing Phone 2. There’s a dual camera setup on the back located at the top center side inside a circular camera module.

This design was also seen in another leak on Reddit where the phone had a heavy case.

SmartPrix also shared renders of Nothing Phone 2a but this render shows a different design. This render shows a vertical dual camera setup located at the top left corner of the back panel.

Nothing Phone 2a

As per reports, Nothing Phone 2a will offer a solid performance for everyday usage and value for money offering. Reports say that it will be the first Nothing phone with a MediaTek SoC. The phone should feature MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC. Mediatek Dimensity 7200 is a 4nm SoC with two Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.8GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores

Another Tipster Sanju claims that the phone will feature a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with a hole punch at the top center for the selfie camera. The phone should pack at least 8GB of RAM and storage options should start at 128GB.

The dual camera setup is confirmed and the phone should feature a 50-megapixel primary camera with Samsung S5KGN9 sensor. For selfies, the phone should offer a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.

The phone will run with Android 14 and Nothing OS 2.5 out of the box. Nothing will also offer three years of Android OS updates and four years of security patches.

Nothing Phone 2a is expected to feature an aggressive price tag. It should start for less than Rs. 30000.

Nothing Phone 2a release date

Nothing has not confirmed the release date for Nothing Phone 2a. So, we don’t know when it will be launched. However, Nothing has been confirmed for a press event at MWC on February 27. Although Nothing didn’t mention anything about the phone, there’s a possibility that the company show us the phone at MWC.

There’s still confusion in the design of the phone. But we have a few renders and leaked specs. The phone will be a mid-range offering to compete against Redmi and Realme phones in the market.

While we are waiting for the official announcement, we will keep posting if there are more details. Stay tuned.
