Apple has confirmed that the iPhone 15 provides a battery lifespan twice as long as initially estimated. iPhone 15’s battery is capable of enduring 1000 recharge cycles while retaining 80 percent battery health.

Apple introduced the iPhone 15 back in September last year and said that the battery can maintain 80 percent battery health even after 500 charging cycles. However, recent tests by Apple have shown better results. Apple tested the iPhone 15 series by charging and discharging the batteries 1,000 times under certain conditions. The company also confirmed that this battery improvement does not require any new hardware or software updates.

It is worth noting that the results are the same for all 2023 iPhone models including the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. However, the support document on Apple’s website still says that iPhone 15 series devices can retain 80 percent of their original full charge after 500 cycles. The company now plans to update its support documents accordingly.

With the upcoming iOS 17.4 update, Apple will also show battery charge cycles along with Battery health in the Settings app in addition. This data will only be available on iPhone 15 series smartphones.

Apple also says that keeping your phone in temperatures between 62 and 72 degrees Fahrenheit is ideal for battery longevity. You also need to avoid charging or leaving your iPhone in hot environments and avoid much direct sun exposure.
