Huawei has just unveiled its latest foldable flip smartphone, the Huawei Pocket 2, in China. This flip phone impresses with its innovative design and specs.
Weighing in at 199g with a sleek 7.35mm thickness, the Pocket 2 looks really good. The hinge is crafted with aerospace-grade materials and 2nd gen Kulun glass for durability. The innovative Xuanwu water drop hinge uses a double-arm lever gear that increases support force by 41%. This design also boosts drop resistance by an impressive 112% and enhances flatness by 62%. The back panel houses dual circular camera modules and a round cover display. The phone also carries an IPX8 water-resistant rating.
Huawei Pocket 2 features a large 6.94-inch OLED LTPO display with 2690×1136 pixels resolution and 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The display panel gas 300Hz touch sampling rate and 1440 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. There is an external 1.15-inch OLED display with a 1-60 Hz adaptive refresh rate and 120 Hz touch sampling rate. The cover screen also supports an always-on display and customizable UI for various functionalities.
The phone is powered by the Kirin 9000S chip and 12GB of RAM. It offers several; storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB. The phone also incorporates an ultra-cooling three-dimensional heat dissipation system for efficient performance.
Huawei Pocket 2 is the first flip phone to feature a quad-camera setup on its cover. It includes a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle macro lens, an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 2MP hyperspectral camera with a UV sensor for color accuracy and UV detection. For selfies, the phone has a 10.7MP front camera.
Connectivity options are Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ax (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.2 LE, GPS (L1 + L5 Dual band), NFC, and USB 3.1 Type-C (GEN1). There is a side-mounted fingerprint to quickly unlock the phone. The phone also offers Two-way satellite communication through Beidou.
