WhatsApp adds voice updates and polls for Channels

WhatsApp Channels

WhatsApp has added two notable features to WhatsApp channels. WhatsApp Channel admins can now post voice updates and polls. They can also add additional admins to manage the channel and post updates.

Voice updates could be a great option for sending a message to followers. Admins can record a voice message and post it to channels for their followers. Voice messages are already popular on the platform and users send 7 billion voice messages daily.

Channel admins can also now post polls in a bid to get engagement. They can create a poll and ask their followers to answer by selecting an option.

Users can also now share Channel updates to their personal WhatsApp Status. A long tap on a post will give users an option to forward the post or share it as a Status.

Until today, WhatsApp channels could only have one admin. Now WhatsApp lets admins invite additional users to make them admins. WhatsApp clarified that Channels can now have up to 16 admins.

All the features announced today will be rolled out globally to all users starting today. You need to make sure you are on the latest version of the WhatsApp app.
