Along with Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+, Samsung also unveiled Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, at the much-anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event. The phone promises a groundbreaking combination of performance, design, and innovative features.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra boasts a stunning 6.8-inch Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O Display with a variable refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz. With a peak brightness of up to 2600 nits, the visuals are set to deliver an unparalleled viewing experience. The phone also has a Corning Gorilla Armor that offers a 75% reduction in reflection across various lighting conditions. It also promises a smooth and comfortable viewing experience for users.
The phone has a sleek design that features a titanium frame. At just 8.6mm thickness, the device is notably thinner than its predecessors. The phone measures 162.3x 79×8.6mm and weighs 232g. It also has IP68 dust and water resistance. Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra comes in Titanium Gray, Titanium Black, Titanium Violet, and Titanium Yellow colors. Samsung will also sell it in online exclusive colors Titanium Blue, Titanium Green, and Titanium Orange in select countries.
Galaxy S24 Ultra is powered by day Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy with Adreno 740 GPU. It has 12GB RAM and will be sold with 256GB, 512GB, and 1 TB internal storage. The addition of vapor chamber cooling, now 1.9 times larger than its predecessor, ensures optimal performance even during intense usage.
Like previous Ultra phones, Galaxy S24 Ultra also comes with a built-in S Pen Stylus.
The phone runs Android 14 with One UI 6.1 out of the box. Samsung promises seven OS upgrades and seven years of security updates for the first time. Samsung also added Galaxy AI that includes several AI features such as Live Translate, two-way, real-time voice and text translations of phone calls within the native app, Interpreter feature, Chat Assist, Note Assist, Transcript Assist, and gesture-driven Circle to Search.
The camera setup is a standout feature, with a 200-megapixel primary sensor with OIS, a 12-megapixel Ultra Wide Lens, a 10-megapixel Telephoto lens offering 3x zoom, and a new 50MP Periscope lens for 5x zoom. The larger pixel size can capture more light in dim conditions which is 60% bigger compared to the previous model. The phone supports an astonishing 100x digital zoom. With wider optical image stabilizer (OIS) angles and enhanced handshake compensation, it also reduces Blur. It also features a 12-megapixel front-facing camera. AI-powered camera features include Galaxy AI editing tools, Edit Suggestions, Generative Edit, and new Instant Slow-mo. The phone supports 8K 30 fps video shooting.
Connectivity options are 5G SA/NSA, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 7 802.11be (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.3, UWB, GPS + GLONASS, USB 3.1, and NFC. It also has an in-display Ultrasonic Fingerprint scanner.
