OnePlus just announced its latest flagship smartphone OnePlus 12 at an event in China. The phone features a 6.82-inch 2K AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, up to 24GB RAM, 50+48+64 MP rear camera, 32 MP selfie camera, and a 5400mAh battery.
OnePlus 12 features a 6.82-inch Quad HD+ curved AMOLED display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The display panel has a 1600 nits typical brightness and up to 4500 nits peak brightness for HDR content. It also has 2160Hz high-frequency PWM Dimming and blue light filtering. The company has developed a Display P1 chip to optimize the display that can provide protection in high brightness. The display panel also has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.
The design of the phone is inspired by luxury watches with hollow-curved design. The phone retains the three-stage alert slider, but has been repositioned to the left side. This allowed OnePlus to add a new antenna to deliver an enhanced antenna performance for gaming. OnePlus comes in three colors: Black, Emerald Green, and White. The white has a new generation of ceramic glass technology. The Emerald green color has patterns inspired from the braided channels of Dart River. The Black has a matte finish with silk glass craftsmanship. OnePlus 12 also has IP65 dustproof and waterproof ratings.
The phone packs Octa Core Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile SoC with Adreno 750 GPU. It comes in 12GB+256GB, 16GB+512GB, 16+1TB, 24+1TB. OnePlus has used LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage for faster performance.
OnePlus 12 runs ColorOS 14.0 based on Android 14. The global variants of the phone will come with OxygenOS 14.
The phone features a Hasselblad-branded camera setup and promises a good photography experience. rear camera setup includes 50 megapixels primary camera with 1/1.4″ Sony LYT-808 sensor, f/1.6 aperture, and OIS. The phone also has 48 megapixels 114° ultra-wide camera with Sony IMX581 sensor and 64 megapixels periscope telephoto camera with Omnivision OV64B sensor, OIS, 3x optical zoom, 6x in-sensor zoom, and up to 120x digital zoom. For selfies, the phone has 32 megapixels front camera with Sony IMX615 sensor. The rear camera setup can record up to 8k 24 fps videos and the front camera can record up to 4k 30 fps videos.
Connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 7 802.11 ad 2X2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS (L1+L5 Dual Band) + GLONASS, USB Type-C, and NFC. The phone also has an in-display fingerprint sensor and an IR blaster.
OnePlus 12 packs a 5400mAh battery with support for 100W SuperVOOC fast charging and 50W wireless flash charging,. The phone also supports wireless reverse charging. OnePlus can be charged up to 100% in 26 minutes with wired charging and in 55 minutes with wireless charging.
